3.5/5 the ninja turtles, played on the wii, is one of the most successful video game franchises in history. for me, the series never quite reached the heights of super smash bros. or mario kart but those two games are a far cry from the initial release of teenage mutant ninja turtles and most people seem to agree that the series has not been looked back on in years.
3.5/5 the mutant ninja turtles: smash-up, played on the wii, is the first official teenage mutant ninja turtles video game. released in 2008, it was the first game to use the power star concept, which enabled players to gain new moves for their turtles simply by playing the game. it also introduced the franchise to the character splinter, voiced by eric bauza, and used the character design from the animated series. the ninja turtles: mutant melee was released in 2009 and uses the nintendo ds gamepad for gameplay.
konami's teenage mutant ninja turtles: the cowabunga collection contains not only the last title in the turtles' string of original releases, but also the first game in the series to feature the four turtles fighting as a team, the third game featuring them fighting shredder, and the first game to feature the turtles on a 4:3 screen. needless to say, it looks great, and this version is very well optimized for today's hardware. unfortunately, it comes with a few bugs and a few quirks, but it is truly a glorious treat for those who remember the good old days of retro gaming and/or those who are new to the series.
a very well done mario-like platformer released by nintendo for the game boy advance. the main characters, four mutant turtles, need to team up in order to defeat the shredder. when the team is formed, the player has a choice to make on which turtle to be. the choices are leonardo, donatello, raphael, or michelangelo. each turtle can be equipped with a weapon to use, such as a sword or baseball bat. while the game has some flaws, such as the controls not being able to be customized to the player's liking, it is a fun game and one of the more enjoyable games on the system. 3d9ccd7d82
